Weidmüller's new Ethernet switches have been developed specifically for small industrial networks. They enable secure and reliable communication between Ethernet-based machines and systems and allow Ethernet devices to be connected to higher-level networks.

Unmanaged plug and play switches mean that network connectivity can be extended to multiple devices. In addition, switches with 5 to 24 ports allow users to take advantage of standardized Ethernet communications and industrial automation technology.

Different switch models are equipped with a variety of combinable copper or fiber interfaces, which means that users can use different media and cover a long distance. All Ethernet switches are equipped with industrial IP30 metal housings with integrated snap-in mounting feet for easy mounting on terminal rails (TS35). The integrated snap-in mounting feet are specially optimized for easy installation. The rugged enclosure design and high port density and particularly compact size mean that you can make the most of your control cabinet space. Especially the 5-port switch, which is one of the switches with the smallest density, is especially suitable for the control cabinet with narrow space. The switch port density can be up to 24 ports.

In addition to high port density, Weidmüller switches can carry a wide temperature range and can be used in environments from –40 to + 75 ° C, supporting on-site and off-site operations. Each port is equipped with an LED, and the integrated LED displays port speed and status.

Flexible and future-proof SFP slots

Whether it is multi-mode or single-mode, whether in the range of 500 meters or up to 20 kilometers, SFP slots help ensure the flexibility of the switch. SFP means small pluggable, SFP slot can connect network components such as switches and optical cables together. Therefore, mutual conversion between a gigabit electrical signal and an optical signal becomes possible. To do this, simply plug in a matching transceiver. This also means that production technology can be changed in a timely manner in the future.

Wire-speed-compatible switches support auto-negotiation. During the auto-negotiation process, the two connected Ethernet ports will automatically determine and configure the maximum possible transmission rate. The integrated automatic crossover function ensures easier installation and also helps prevent sources of error (as crossover cables are no longer needed). A switch that meets this standard will detect the send and receive pairs and automatically and correctly allocate the pairs internally.

These modules have input current limit and reverse polarity protection. Eco Line switches are connected via removable 3 or 4-pin plug-in connectors. The Eco Line series includes Fast Ethernet and Gigabit models as well as 802.3 af PoE models. Most models have a redundant power input of 24 VDC. 5- and 8-port copper cable models can also be powered from a 24 VAC power source to accommodate building automation.

Weidmüller Ethernet switches have international certifications as well as CE and UL certificates, which are suitable for industrial applications around the world. The main advantages of unmanaged switches are their good price / performance ratio and their space-saving design.
